Reliability Analyst - Reliability

Reports to: Vice President, Consulting Services
Summary
Perform detailed aircraft reliability
analysis with the end goal of achieving and improving aircraft
reliability for our clients.
Organizational Relationship
Reports to the Vice President, Consulting
Services. Works closely with other internal and external
SME to deliver reliability information and consulting solutions
to our clients.
Major Tasks and Level Accountability:
- Perform analysis of aircraft structure,
systems, components, and engine performance to identify
trends, failure modes, and root cause.
- Complete detailed reviews of aircraft
logpages, non-routines, delay reports, shop tear-down
reports, etc., to develop and report information necessary
to effect engineering modifications and/or changes to
the Maintenance Program.
- Provide reports to internal and external
customers with statistics and graphics to provide a basis
for conclusions.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of an event based
data collection and analysis system in addition to an
alert based system.
- Exceptional analytic skills with the
ability to perform complex reliability analysis including:
- Understanding, reviewing, and interpreting technical maintenance data
- Analyzing large quantities of data to determine trends
- Quantititatively separating and identifying operational performance from technical performance
- Determining the appropriate type of analysis required for a given problem, modeling, and testing data
- Calculating sampling populations and determining confidence percentage and error factors
- Predicting aircraft, engine, and component reliability performance
- Ability to develop effective presentations and course material
- Ability to conduct subject specific workshops and training sessions
- Practiced skill in performing, assessments, documentation of findings, and proposals for improvement
- Ability to interface with clients and work well in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word)
- Ability to create business process flow documents (Visio preferred)
- Working knowledge of economic and statistical analysis
- Proficient analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Ability to visualize new ideas and solutions for the aircraft maintenance industry
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple consulting arrangements
- Results driven with a passion for helping clients improve aircraft safety and maintenance effeciencies
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Six Sigma certification preferred
- Experience serving on industry steering committees or advisory circles is a plus
- Good understanding of how a data collection and analysis program supports air carrier compliance to CFR 121.373 (Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System)
Education or Experience sought:
- Bachelors degree in a technical or business related field or equivelent experience
- Four years experience in the analysis of aircraft structure, systems, components, and engine performance to identify trends, failure modes, and root cause
- Experience performing a detailed review of aircraft log pages, non-routines, delay reports, shop tear-down reports, etc., to develop and report information necessary to effect engineering modifications and/or changes to the Maintenance Program
- Experience developing reports with statistics and graphics to provide a basis for conclusion
- Experience serving on industry steering committees or advisory circles is a plus
