Reports to: Vice President, Consulting Services
Summary
Provide consulting services in the aviation, aerospace, and defense industries in order to improve safety, reduce cycle times, enhance reliability, improve quality and risk management practices, increase productivity and efficiency, and improve work processes.
Organizational Relationship
Reports to the Vice President, Consulting Services. Works closely with other internal and external SME to deliver business and training solutions our clients.
Major Tasks and Level Accountability:
- Perform client needs assessments to include
problem formulation and analysis, business research and
assessment, client interviews, and business model evaluation.
- Prepare and package client proposals for
training or consulting services. Develop and present project
scope (time, internal/external resource requirements, customer
resources, cost, etc) documents and proposals to the client.
- Assist in the development of consulting
contracts and agreements.
- Provide deliverables to clients through
learning, documenting and measuring baseline processes,
setting targets, quantifying improvement goals, implementing
improvements, and measuring progress.
- Develop training curriculum and deliver
training to targeted clients in the industry.
- Provide client support in the areas of
knowledge (content) authoring and training program management
and administration.
- Training assessment knowledge administration
training effectiveness and performance tracking.
- Grow existing client base. Identify new
client opportunities through established partnerships in
the industry. Follow up with clients and respond to requests
for proposals, quotes, or information.
- Provide executive/management temporary
replacement services to clients in areas of expertise.
- Participate in industry steering committees
and/or advisory circulars.
- Implement consulting best practices
and methodologies.

and training sessions
- Practiced skill in performing assessments,
documentation of findings, and proposals for improvement
- Ability to interface with clients and
work well in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication
skills
- MS Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word)
- Ability to create process flow documents
(Visio preferred)
- Working knowledge of financial, economic,
and statistical analysis
- Proficient analytical, problem solving,
and decision making skills
- Ability to visualize new ideas and solutions
for the aircraft maintenance industry
- Ability to work independently and manage
multiple consulting arrangements
- Results driven with a passion for helping
clients improve aircraft safety and maintenance efficiencies
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certification
preferred
Maintenance Program Focus - Desired Experience and Expertise Sought
- Minimum of 8-10 years minimum Part 121/135
(10 or more) airline experience
- Working knowledge of 121/135 carriers
GMM (General Maintenance Manuals) or any other internal
airline policy manuals
- Knowledge and understanding of FAA Regulations
- Experience with AA Inspector Handbook
AC-8300.10 and appropriate Advisory Circulars and HBAWs
- Experience managing MRB/MPD Documents
- Experience building and managing maintenance
programs for jet aircraft
- Working knowledge and understanding of
MSG-3
- Working knowledge and understanding of
the relationships between maintenance program and CASS/reliability
- Project management experience
- A&P preferred (not required)
Additional In-depth Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in one or more of the following areas:
- Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System
(CASS) assessments and design for compliance
- Maintenance program assessments including
(1) Maintenance schedule conversions to the most recent
MSG-3 schedules, (2) Development of bridge check programs
supporting schedule conversions, and/or (3) Program audits,
evaluations, and recommendations
- Curriculum development and course delivery
of maintenance and engineering operations such as: CASS,
MSG-3 Maintenance Program Philosophy and Logic, Human Factors,
Reliability Management, and Risk Management
- Systems, powerplant, and structures engineering
program evaluations and recommendations
- Reliability program development and regulatory
approval demonstrations
- Aviation industry compliance
- QA program development and recommendations
- Fleet management – optimum maintenance
and utilization focus
- Airline technical representation at MRO
facilities
- Pre-purchase or lease inspections and
record checks
- Lease return audits and documentation
- Creation or revision of air carrier maintenance
and engineering manuals
- Technical writing, including new and revised
work instruction card authoring
- A&P licensed mechanic
Education or Experience sought:
- Bachelors degree in a technical or business
related field or equivalent experience
- 7-10 years experience in aircraft maintenance
and/or technical operations with indepth subject matter
expertise in
- Experience serving on industry steering
committees or advisory circles is a plus
