What are MRB tasks?
MRB tasks are maintenance requirements that are developed as part of the aircraft’s certification process. Developing and approving the tasks is accomplished by a group of individuals known as the Maintenance Review Board (MRB). The MRB is chaired by a representative from the FAA and is composed of members from the FAA, aircraft and powerplant manufacturers, and aircraft operators. When the MRB, through its various working groups, completes the development of maintenance requirements, it compiles them in a document called the MRB report (MRBR) or MRB Document (MRBD). This is used as the initial minimum maintenance program upon which an airline builds its own unique program for FAA approval.
